24 hours in the timeportal

Charleroi Airport, Belgium

Through a rideshare website, I had the opportunity to travel from Lille, France to Charleroi, Belgium with a local commuter. Working in the innovative automobile engineering business, he drove that distance daily on his company's gas and transport tab. With the push of a friend, he managed to open an online rideshare account providing daily morning and evening services to and from the northeastern edge of urban France to the airport Belgian city. His life became so enriched by intimate encounters with strangers, so regularly enhanced by a virtual ritual in hospitality and human kindness. For the price of a passenger seat, he could exchange stories; in exchange for the valuable illusion of time and space, he could offer his own. A goodbye to France, a hello to 24 hours in an interdimensional portal.
