Overlooking the airplane window, in a short hours ride, the landscape below me is transformed to rolling hills of earthly rich tones.
On the ground, so too does the terrestrial topography of difference find its distinctness in relational shape and color. Regional religious, ethnic and political histories contradict and complement this post-Communist municipal community, whose long-standing and over-lapping histories of endurance make their iconic statement on every immeuble. For every ethnic affiliation, orthodox spiritual order, and fragmented spatio-temporal identity, there is history and a home.
Below is a photo portrait of two days in this city from the region of "Transylvania."
(Meanwhile, adventures of an increasingly uncomfortable couchsurfing experience: a delusionally one-sided 'love' story.)
