Limbo land

Zurich, Switzerland

After three weeks of wandering, I rest for a week in Zurich with my sister, MC, and her partner, Ties, who is originally from the Netherlands. Together, we live the cozy vegan family life, all of us foreigners to this Swiss, Sims-like city.

In what is now Switzerland, the Protestant faith of Calvinism emerged in the 16th century; between then and now, between the mountains, lakes, rivers, and streams, the simulation of life follows a modern daily routine of discipline. Litter-and-noise free to the near point of sterility, the public streets and transportation systems fill and empty according to the gears of the working clock. Yet the city boasts of the highest concentration of nightclubs in Europe. At all hours you work or you play; here you live for both. Is this a contradiction or this the architecture of collective energy expenditure in modern society?

For the June summer solstice and the annual supermoon, we go out to a Goa trance and a progressive trance party to celebrate our relationship with the cycles of nature under the spiraling sensations of teknostimulated sound and light. Virgile and I have a rendezvous at the lake. We decide to continue the travels together, binding our fates again. What do I have to lose, here?
